FREYR Institute is a Danish non-profit organization dedicated to addressing the key societal challenges of the 21st century, such as global migration, cultural divides, discrimination, misinformation, mental health crises, and climate change. We work to advance human rights, equal opportunities, tolerance, social and cultural harmony, while fostering intercultural exchange, media and information literacy, well-being, and environmental responsibility.
Our name tells our story, our values
The name FREYR is more than a title — it is an acronym that reflects the core principles guiding our work and vision. Each letter represents a value we strive to embody in everything we do:
F – Frihed / Freedom
The freedom to make your own choices and be yourself — as long as you do not harm yourself, others, or the planet.
R – Respekt / Respect
Respect for yourself, for every other person, and for our shared home, Planet Earth.
E – Enhed / Unity
Unity, because we are all in this life together. Let us find what we share, embrace how we differ, and build bridges across our differences.
Y – Ydelse / Personal Excellence
Strive to be the best version of yourself — because you deserve it, you own it, and you are capable of it.
R – Retfærdighed / Justice
Justice, rooted in fairness, equality, and non-discrimination for everyone.
