International Training Workshops held in Esbjerg, Denmark in January 2025 was an activity in the Equal Futures Erasmus+ project. Through facilitated discussions, group reflections and scenario-based exercises, participants, youth workers from Denmark, Turkey and Lithuania, identified the challenges they considered most urgent in the field of gender equality in their countries and collaboratively formulated proposals for change and drafted policy recommendations.
The aim of this process was not only to produce concrete recommendations, but also to strengthen young people’s capacity to analyse social issues, articulate their perspectives and engage with democratic decision-making. The recommendations reflect their lived experiences, values and expectations for a more equal and inclusive society.
This introduction therefore serves as an invitation to stakeholders to listen to the voices of the young people who contributed to the project, to understand the realities they describe, and to consider how these recommendations can inspire future actions, programmes and policies aimed at promoting equality and fostering youth participation.
